Exciting Family Travel Trends That Will Bring Contentment and Adventure in 2023
Are you looking forward to traveling next year? There are some exciting travel trends and I’m here to share them along with vacation inspiration that I hope will spark an idea for your next family vacation.

Booking.com surveyed 24,000 people about their travel plans and ideas for 2023 and they discovered some interesting trends. Today I’m sharing 5 of those trends and offering some ideas that you can use to plan a family vacation within these trends.
Getting Back to the Basics
Camping, glamping, and going off-grid are going to be popular in 2023. I love that people are wanting to get outside, unplug and spend some time in nature.
Under Canvas has been on my radar for a while as an interesting possibility for luxury camping. They have several locations near national parks in the US with beautiful tents, beds, and lots of amenities. If you want to get out in nature but not rough it too much, this could be a great option.
Looking for something more adventurous? How about. the Boulder Outdoor Survival School where you can learn wilderness survival skills? This is for ages 18+ so families with younger kids would want to look for a different type of vacation.
Culture Shock?
In the Booking.com survey, they discovered that 75% of those surveys want a vacation in 2023 to have an out-of-comfort experience. I’m thinking this would mean getting out and experiencing a new culture. A few places on my list are Japan, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Africa, and Brazil.

Another trend is that people want to return to places that were special to them in their childhood. Of places that they wish they had visited as a child. Because of this trend, theme parks are on the radar of many vacation planners in 2023.
Also, family reunions and multi-generation trips will be increasing next year.
Finding the Zen
The survey also discovered that people really want to focus on wellness and self-care on their vacation next year.

There is something for everyone in the family with this type of vacation. This type of vacation provides families with a space to enjoy time together while also allowing pieces of time apart to get spa services or spend some time relaxing and rejuvenating.
Travel Hacking
People will be looking for creative ways to stretch their travel budget but travel hacking. This is when people watch for deals, use credit card points, cash in loyalty points with airlines or hotels, travel off-season, or watch for sales.
Many families have money saved up from years of not traveling and they are ready to spend in 2023.
