Puerto Vallarta is by far my favorite stop on Mexican Riviera cruises. It is so pretty and so green! The city is at the base of the Sierra Madre Mountains and everything is lush and covered with rainforests.
Whether you’re visiting on a cruise, or staying in the city, here are my family’s favorite things to do when visiting Puerto Vallarta!
Hidden Beach
This beach is about 22 miles off the coast and you’ll need to take a boat to this location.
Hidden beach is basically a small island with a beach inside a cave with an opening in the ceiling. It really is so cool!
You have to be at least 12 years old to swim through the cave and go to the beach. You should be a strong swimmer to make it to this beach.
This is not your regular zipline adventure. After debarking from the cruise ship (or leaving town), you take a speed boat to a dock in the rainforest.
Once you arrive here, you take an open-window army-style bus through the town.
Next, you get outfitted in your zipline gear and head out!
On this adventure, you get to zipline, rappel down waterfalls, cross bridges, and ride waterslides. All through the jungle!
The grand finale is a huge water slide. It’s no joke! You have to put on hokey-type masks to be able to ride it.
The minimum age is 8 years old.
Rhythms of the Night Dinner Show
To get to this dinner, you’ll need to take about an hour boat ride to get to the bay where this is located.
The boat plays music and has an open bar during sunset.
Then you dock at the venue in the rainforest. Now you can enjoy an amazing Mexican buffet in a gorgeous location!
After dinner, enjoy a Cirque du Soleil-style show!
The minimum age is 6 years old.
Swim with Dolphins or Sea Lions!
If your family loves animals, this might be perfect for you!
Other fun things that we want to do:
Parasailing
ATV tour
Scuba diving
Rent a yacht or group yacht and snorkel
Spend the day at the beach
Shop in the city
