Adventurous Outdoor Activities in St. George, Utah
There is so much to do in St. George, Utah! Plan on spending a lot of time outdoors enjoying the beautiful, red rock scenery.
Hiking
Snow Canyon State Park: Hike in Lava Tubes and visit White Rocks Amphitheater
Aspiration Point: Moderate/steep hike that would be good with older kids. Pick up a colored rock at the beginning of the hike and leave it at the top of the hike. The rock represents a burden that you carry and that you leave behind on the mountain. There are positive quotes along the trail.
Jenny’s Canyon: It’s a short hike with a slot canyon.
Mountain Biking
There are many trails for all ages around St. George
Snake Hollow: Fun bike park
Check out Bear Poppy Trail area for lots of trails that are great for biking.
St. George and Washington City both have great trails all around town.
Pickleball
Pickleball has become a very popular sport in St. George!
Vernon Worthen Park is a great place to play. Be sure to bring along your own balls and racquets.
Courts are first come, first served.
Parks
St. Geroge has forty-one city parks, so there are many park options.
Thunder Junction All-Abilities Park: Train (costs $1 per person), splash pad, many play equipment options.
Hidden Valley Park: Splash Pad and volleyball
Vernon Worthen Park: near downtown
Swiss Pioneer Memorial Park: Wooden playground equipment in a pioneer theme.
Canyon Park: In Washington CIty. It’s a Ninja Park with Parkour when you can do challenges and race your friends.
Zion’s National Park is only one hour from St. George.
Swimming
Sand Hollow Reservoir: Cliff jumping, The Beach at Sand Hollow for rentals of kayaks, stand-up paddleboards, boats, ATVs, and more.
Virgin River: swim at some beach areas
Arts + Culture
Kayenta: Nearby art village and cafe
Favorite Places to Eat
Pizza Factory: pizza, breadsticks, and the best salad bar
Angelica’s Mexican Grill: Tacos
Paula’s Cazeula: Mexican Food
Bear Paw Cafe: Nice breakfast spot. Open for breakfast and lunch.
George’s Corner: Great place for breakfast. Open all day and hours vary so be sure to check their website before visiting.
