Disneyland's Sweethearts' Night. Is It Worth It and What are the Perks?

Did you know that Disneyland has a special Sweethearts’ Nite event? It’s a special event in Disney’s After Dark series that is all about Valentine’s Day. This year was the first time they’ve offered this event and I’m hoping it won’t be the last! We went to this special event and I have all of the details about what makes it special plus our review of the night.

Here’s everything you need to know about visiting Disneyland on their special event Sweethearts’ Nite.

What is Disneyland’s Sweethearts’ Nite?

Disneyland has started special after dark hours for a limited number of special events. This month, they had 5 nights open for their exclusive Sweethearts’ Nite. The event runs from 8 pm to midnight. But they do let party guests at 5 pm. They let us in at 4:40 pm!

What are the Sweethearts’ Nite Perks?

  • Limited number of guests = short lines!

  • Special food offerings including two opportunities for 3-course dinners. The 3-course meals are an additional cost.

  • Photo backdrops are set up for some fun photo opportunities. Fly on a magic carpet, float in the Kiss the Girl boat, sip spaghetti like Lady and the Tramp, and more!

  • The photo pass is included. You can have any of the professional photographers around the park and have the photos uploaded into your app for no additional cost.

  • Romantic fireworks show set to some favorite Disney love songs.

How Much Do the Tickets Cost?

The price ranged from $114 to $145 per person depending on the night you selected.

Do I Also Need to Buy a Regular Day Ticket to the Park?

No, you don’t! Unless you are wanting to spend the entire day at the park. If you are good with entering at 5 pm, then this special event ticket is all that you need. We arrived on the day of the event, checked in to our hotel, got lunch, took a nap, and then walked over to Disneyland. We then bought a full-day park hopper ticket for the following day.

When Do the Disneyland Sweethearts’ Nite Tickets Go on Sale?

For this year’s event, they went on sale on December 9, 2021. I received an email about it a couple of weeks before that. As soon as I saw the email, I knew that this would make a perfect Christmas gift for Ward! The tickets sold out by mid-January. I’m guessing they will sell out even faster this upcoming December now that the word is out on the event and more people will want to go.
