How We Were Able to Help Ukrainian Refugees in Poland
The instant my cousin sent me a text asking if I could go to Poland with her to help Ukrainian refugees, I knew that I had to go. It was going to stretch my time and energy but I knew that this was somewhere where I could really help others and it couldn’t be missed. After the word spread a bit, there were 12 of us that set off to Krakow, Poland to find ways to assist the Ukrainians.
My friend, Chelsea Lamb, joined me on the trip and is joining me on this podcast episode today where we share all of the ways we were able to serve and how we were impacted by this trip. This was an experience, unlike anything I’ve done before. In this episode, I hope you enjoy learning about our experience and discover lessons and insights for yourself so we can all keep finding ways to lift others.

Why We Went to Poland to Help Ukrainian Refugees
You can check out this episode that I recorded before the trip for the full story on how and why I went to Poland.
I have. a desire to help others and this felt like a great opportunity to go somewhere and be able to make an impact every day.
How Did We Help Ukrainian Refugees in Poland?
We collected donations from friends before and during our trip that we used to take refugees shopping and restocked their food and baby centers.
We approached women in line for services at the Krakow train station and asked how we could help them. They always said no at first. We would ask if they needed a suitcase. The answer was usually still no even though they were carrying all of their belongings in grocery bags. After explaining that we came with money from our friends to help they would let us help.
In addition to taking them shopping for suitcases, we also bought shoes, clothes, strollers, and groceries.
We went to the Polish version of Costco, Marko, and bought so many supplies to restock the baby center and food center at the train station. We also took supplies to Tesco which is a refugee center near the Ukrainian border.
We went to the border for a brief amount of time and helped people carry their bags.
We took 2 moms and their four kids to the zoo for the afternoon. It was so fun to help them enjoy something normal.
We loved this opportunity to find ways to help others each day. It was such a blessing to be able to go and serve in this way.
