7 Reasons to Look Forward to Traveling as Empty Nesters

This week I want to talk to those who will one day be empty nesters. This is a new phase of life for me and I want to share the benefits of traveling without kids, even though you miss them.

Let’s talk about the perks of being empty nesters!

1. You get to do more of what YOU want!

Do you want more sleeping in? More adventure? More relaxing? Whatever it is that you love to do on vacation, is what you do! There are less opinions and less people to manage.

2. More flexible schedule

With kids, you often have to work around school breaks. But now, we can go on last minute trips at any time.

3. More opportunities to grow your relationship with your partner

With kids, it can be hard to have alone time with your partner. Once it’s just the parents, you can focus more on your partner and get to know each other even better.

4. Travel with other couples

We love going on couples trips with other friends who are in the same stage of life as us! It’s been so fun to travel with other couples.

5. Bigger budget (per person)

Now that you don’t have to pay for kids, you can do more for you and your partner! This could go towards additional travel days, more excursions, eating out, etc.

6. Stay at different accommodations

Try out the cute boutique hotels! Go to the nice restaurants! Take advantage of having an adult-only trip.

7. Less stuff to pack

Especially with babies, you have to pack so many things! This isn’t a bad thing, but now you don't have to bring these things! Now my husband and I usually only take a carry-on and a small bag, which makes maneuvering much easier.
